The Carpet and Textile industry manufactures and finishes carpets and rugs for the domestic, commercial, and industrial sectors. These products are generally woven, tufted, or modular and made from nylon or other synthetic materials.
The tufting process is similar to the action of a regular sewing machine. Tufting machines work by using a needle to push the yarn through a backing material. Once through, the machine either cuts the yarn or it leaves in a loop.
Modular carpet also known as carpet tiles are produced by inserting tufts into a PVC or bitumen compound which has been coated onto a backing fabric.
Woven is the traditional method of making carpet and the process dates back over 200 years. Compared to tufting, woven carpet manufacturing is slower and more labour intensive. Consequently, woven carpet tends to be more expensive than tufted carpet.
We have worked on conveyors, J-Bins, industrial ovens, rollers, and tufting equipment.
